El Salvador to sign FTA with three countries

El Salvador's President Elias Antonio Saca will travel this coming
week to Colombia to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Colombia, El
Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, according to press reports reaching in Mexico
City from San Salvador, El Salvador's capital, yesterday. Saca said through
an official radio broadcast that he would sign the FTA with his counterparts
from Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras Thursday in Medellin, Colombia. This
FTA "will undoubtedly bring great benefits to our economy, since the FTAs mean
jobs," Saca said. He will travel to Colombia after visiting San Jose, Costa
Rica, where he is to attend Wednesday commemorative activities of the 20th
anniversary of the signing of "Esquipulas II" Central American Peace Accord
which has contributed to Central America's political stability.
