26/8/2008 17:08

Delegates from members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) met yesterday again in an effort to find out a way to play down the influence of the world price crisis on small and medium businesses.
During the second day of the APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Working Group Meetings held in Chiclayo of the Peruvian province of Lambayeque, Johann Spitzer, who chaired the gathering, said the participants aimed at fostering innovative and positive practices for small entrepreneurs.
"It needs to improve the competitiveness and way of making business of the small and medium enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region, which currently are facing great challenges due to the international price crisis," Spitzer said.
Spitzer said priority was given to discussion on innovation management, the business sector's social responsibility and the strategic plan for small and medium businesses.
The gathering, which was set to end tomorrow, has drawn some 250 delegates from the 21 APEC economies.
