Ukraine's weapons exports exceed US$1 billion in 2007

Ukraine's weapons exports topped US$1 billion in 2007, up 20 percent from
2006, local media reported yesterday.
Ukraine is still among the top 10 arms
exporters worldwide in 2007, despite pessimistic predictions from some foreign
experts, the report quoted officials from the company exporting special
technology as saying.
According to the officials, the exports mainly included
precision weapons, light armored vehicles, anti-precision-weapon equipment,
radar positioning systems and anti-aircraft missiles.
Special military
services exported focused on upgrading space equipment for military use, they
said.
