Chinese Premier meets Slovenian President, hoping for wider economic cooperation
24/10/2008 17:09

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing today with Slovenian President Danilo Turk, who is on an official visit to China.
China and Slovenia had been working hard to develop the equal, friendly and mutual-benefiting bilateral relations since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, which not only brought the two peoples practical benefits, but also injected energy into the China-Europe relations, said Wen.
He said that China would like to strengthen cooperation with Slovenia in trade, investment and infrastructure facilities and to enhance personnel exchanges to raise the friendly cooperative Sino-Slovenian relations to a new high.
Expressing appreciation to China's friendly policies to Slovenia, Turk said his country was willing to enhance political dialogues and expand cooperation in trade, finance and tourism.
Turk, who arrived in Beijing this morning, is also expected to attend the two-day Asia-Europe Meeting summit scheduled to open this afternoon.
