10/11/2008 17:26

Jordan and Austria agreed yesterday that it was high time to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and judiciary among others, local daily the Jordan Times reported today.
In yesterday's talks at Basman Palace, Jordan's king Abdullah II and visiting Austrian President Heinz Fischer discussed steps to bolster bilateral ties, which they described as "historic and strong".
In a joint press conference following the talks, the king said: "Our two countries enjoy excellent relations. Our talks today offered a valuable opportunity to discuss how we can further develop these ties in the economic field, in trade and investment, in energy, in education and more."
Fischer, for his part, said there are genuine opportunities for developing ties in various fields.
Fischer and his wife arrived in Amman yesterday for a three-day visit to the kingdom.
