Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp, Taiwan's second-largest maker of flat-panel displays, won approval from the island's authority to invest in its first business on China's mainland. The authority approved the company's application to invest US$1 million to open a company in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, to service clients.
