Shanghai and Hangzhou signed contracts on 14 joint projects between the two cities yesterday. Companies based in Shanghai will invest 1.718 billion yuan (US$212 million) on the development of the capital of neighboring Zhejiang Province, in terms of infrastructure, information technology, horticulture and building materials. In October, Hangzhou will hold its 7th "West Lake Expo" and an international Expo on tourism and culture will be held in the city next April.
