Genencor International Inc, which is wholly owned by the world's leading food and consumer product ingredient producer Danisco A/S, began constructing a new plant in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, on Monday. The new factory is set to be operational late next year. Genencor will invest US$30 million in the project. It will serve as the company's production and service center in the Asia-Pacific region.
