29/9/2004 15:26

The city of Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province is in the middle of the country's eastern coastline and covers an area of 7,500 square kilometers with a population of 4.7 million.
Recent development has focused on taking advantage of the city's favorable geography and many transportation advantages.
The eurasia Continental Land Bridge, the cheapest and fastest railway linking more than 30 countries between Asia and Europe, starts at the Lianyungang Port and ends in Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
Lianyungang port, as one of China's top 10 ports, provides the country's middle-to-west with its most convenient export waterway, which does business with more than 1,000 ports in over 160 countries.
Lianyungang is a major road hub, connecting two national expressways, including the Lianyungang - Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Expressway and Heilongjiang - Hainan Expressway.
In january, 2003, the construction of Lianyan Expressway started, which will connect Yantong Expressway and Sutong Yangtze River Bridge to create a half-day transportation circle through the Yangtze Delta.
Development is increasing because Lianyungang is an open development coastal city, the first to adopt the policy when established by the State Council two decades ago.
The city has built a series of economic zones and export processing parks.
It has developed close trade ties and communications with 85 countries, including the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Russia.
In a bid to create an international business center in the Yangtze Delta, the city has attracted more than 2,000 cooperation programs and developed pharmaceutical, new material and energy as its pillar industries.
Lianyungang is endowed with an important cultural heritage. The Journey To The West, one of the four most famous classical Chinese literatures, originated in the region.
The city hopes to have Monkey King, a major figure in the novel, as the lucky symbol of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Lianyungang is one of the nation's top tourist destinations, with rich natural resources such as the Yellow Sea, the Kongwang Mountain and its own hot springs.
A recent survey by the State Environmental Protection Administration of China ranked the city second in the country for its good environment and low pollution levels.
Lianyungang is also a city with rich resources and is appropriately named the "land of crystals." Donghai County has reserves of more than 600 million tons of crystal, and the product can be bought cheaply here.
With abundant resources, good electricity and an efficient and convenient transport network, we will continue to bring about a better environment for investors and tourists.
Join us and take every opportunity on this hot land!
