The number "8" in Cantonese sounds like "fa" which means "get rich." However, in this case, the lucky license plate troubled the owner so much that he wanted to sell it in return for a normal life because the numbers were too eye-catching. But the license plate authority outlawed the sale, saying it was equivalent to fraud and ordered the ad to be deleted from the Website. Hangzhou began issuing license plates at random six years ago, which makes it possible for an owner of a cheaper car to get a lucky plate by accident and sell it at an exorbitant price.
