Elvis' caddie on show
7/3/2005 13:26

A pink Cadillac Deville that was once owned by Elvis Presley is one of the top attractions at a vintage car show that opened in the city over the weekend.
The international Classic Cars China Tour 2005 opened at a hall next to the city's Oriental Pearl TV Tower on Saturday and will run through March 27.
When the show wraps up in Shanghai, it will travel around the country, making stops in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Beijing and Zhengzhou in the central Henan Province.
The 38 cars on display were provided by American Top Antique and Classic Cars Co, which owns more than 1,000 antique cars and automobiles used as props for movies.
The show includes a Ford from the 1920s, a Porsche sports car from the 1970s and a 1967 Lincoln Continental that made an appearance in "Spider Man II."
"It is fantastic. I can touch the cars. I love reading car magazines and collecting all sorts of information about cars, but I never imagine that I could be so close to them," said a 16-year-old boy as he wandered around the show on Saturday.
Tickets to the show were priced at 10 yuan (US$1.20) on Saturday as a special offer, but were raised to 60 yuan yesterday.
