Shanghai Daily news

Hongfang Flavor (Kunshan) Co in Jiangsu Province has sent samples of all of its chili-powder products to an inspection institute in Nanjing after Sudan I was located in products it supplied to KFC earlier this week.
An examination of the products should be completed by next Wednesday, according to Hongfang officials.
Yum! Restaurants China, which runs KFC franchises in the country, issued a written statement on Wednesday, claiming that the flavoring in its New Orleans chicken wings and Orleans drumstick burgers was found to contain Sudan I.
All such products have been pulled from its stores.
The tainted flavoring originated with Hongfang, which provided products to the China branch of Griffith Laboratories, a KFC supplier.
Sudan I has been linked to cancer.
Shanghai Food and Drug Administration also confirmed yesterday that the dye was found in six varieties of Shanfeng-branded pickles. The pickles were produced by Haining Yanguan Convenience Vegetable Food Factory.
Local authorities started the inspection after the Jiangsu Commercial and Industrial Administration Bureau claimed it detected Sudan I in Shanfeng products on March 10.
