"Freelance reporter" arrested outside Pitt's home
1/2/2008 9:41

A man who claimed himself as a "freelance reporter" was arrested by police outside Brad Pitt's house after the actor's housekeeper called police to report that a car blocked the driveway, according to media reports yesterday.

Officer Karen Smith said the 25-year-old man blocked Pitt's driveway in Hollywood with his car around noon yesterday and asked the housekeeper what house belonged to Pitt. It is a gated community and it is not clear how he got in.

She said the man got out of the car and asked which was Pitt's house, which prompted her to call for help.

The worried housekeeper immediately called police and one Eric Mitchell was arrested for investigation of trespassing and taken into custody on a "private person's arrest," Smith said.

It will be up to the housekeeper to decide whether to press charges.

Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, who were in Los Angeles for the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, were not at home.

It is reportedly that Jolie is pregnant with twins.

Neither of the actors has commented on the reports.

Media also reported that the couple was thinking of adopting another child -- an African girl or a child orphaned by Hurricane Katrina.
