Paris Hilton's younger brother requested her to bail him out from Lost Hills
Sheriff's station, according to US media reports today.
Barron Hilton, 18, was arrested yesterday on charges of driving under the
influence and carrying a fake driver's license on the Pacific Coast Highway in
Malibu.
A driver spotted a black Mercedes weaving on the roadway and at times driving
on the wrong side of the road, so he followed the vehicle to a gas station,
where he made Barron sit on a nearby bus bench until deputies arrived, according
to police officers in L.A. County.
Barron's blood-alcohol level was 0.14 percent, said L. A. County sheriff's
spokesman Steve Whitmore.
The California legal limit for a person over 21 is 0.08 percent, but for a
person under 21, any blood-alcohol level is considered legally drunk.
Barron also had a female passenger in the vehicle and "apparently the female
was driving the Mercedes prior to Hilton and was possibly involved in a
collision," according to deputies, who also discovered Barron was packing a fake
ID.
Barron's father Rick Hilton said he hadn't been contacted yet by either his
son nor the police.
"If what I have heard is true, it is very disturbing and I will have a lot to
say - but it will be to my son, not the media," said Rick.
The teen is currently being held on US$5,000 bail.
