Are the Beckhams headed back across the pond?
13/3/2008 9:58

It's been less than a year since England's star couple arrived in the United States, but rumors are heating up that David and Victoria Beckham and their children might be headed back home.

David's first season with the L.A. Galaxy¡ªthe team that has him under a US$250 million, five-year contract¡ªwas a huge disappointment because injuries that kept him off the pitch during many games. Add to that are reports his whole family is in the U.K., and he wants to be closer to them.

"He'd be very happy if someone would buy out his Galaxy contract," a source told OK! magazine.

There's also the topic of Victoria Beckham's denim line, dVb.

"It's done about US$15 million in retail when it was expected to have done US$50 million by now," a well-placed retailer told OK!

Reps for the Beckhams say the clothing line is "doing well," and there aren't plans for David to get out of his contract and move. However, another well-placed Beckham source said the move to the United States hasn't been as seamless as originally hoped, and the change in Victoria's fame status has had something to do with that.

"The Spice Girls reunion tour really was a bright light for her, it was a complete success," said the source. "However, it really did make it clear to Victoria how different her life is here. She's got some decisions to make."
