Did the Dark Knight attack his family?
"The Dark Knight" star Christian Bale has denied allegations by his mother
and sister that he had assaulted them, and he is cooperating with police, media
reported today.
Bale's London-based law firm issued a statement denying that an assault took
place.
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis,
in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the
police by his mother and sister," the statement said.
Christian Bale, 34,
was arrested and released Tuesday. The arrest reportedly was delayed until after
Monday night's glittering European premiere of the actor's latest Batman movie.
The British press reported that Bale was accused of lashing out at his mother
and sister Sunday in his suite at the downtown Dorchester hotel. Bale was
questioned by police for four hours Tuesday morning and released.
Bale's mother, Jenny, and sister, Sharon, who both live outside of London,
reportedly made the allegations in a police station in the southern England
county of Hampshire.
Bale is in London after the British premiere of "The Dark Knight," the latest
Batman movie and a Warner Brothers film. Warner Brothers is owned by Time
Warner.
Bale plays Bruce Wayne/Batman in "The Dark Knight," which co-stars the late
Heath Ledger as the Joker.
