P. Diddy flees gunman
6/8/2008 10:10

P. Diddy, Nelly and Usher were forced to run for their lives when gunfire broke out at a party in Atlanta.

The event at Club Dream in Georgia on Friday night -- hosted by Janet Jackson's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri -- was interrupted when an unknown male pulled out a gun and began shooting erratically after he was charged double by a security guard when trying to enter the VIP area.

Following the incident at the bash, which Jermaine hosted to kick-off his annual So So Def Summer Fest, the music producer said: "I'm sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party.

But I'm happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues." While no celebrity guests were injured in the shooting, the gunman shot one of the club's security guards in the arm. The guard was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.

Police are still interviewing witnesses in a bid to determine the identity of the shooter.
