US comedian Ellen DeGeneres on Saturday married her partner, actress
Portia de Rossi, three months after California legalized same-sex marriage,
according to media reports.
A spokesperson for the couple told People magazine they were married in a
ceremony attended by 19 guests at their Beverly Hills home in Los Angeles.
The couple have been dating for about four years and have been open about
their relationship, appearing at red carpet events in Hollywood together.
After the California Supreme Court's ruling in May, DeGeneres announced her
plans to wed de Rossi, the former "Ally McBeal" actress, on her talk show.
DeGeneres made headlines around the world in 1997 when her TV alter ego came
out of the closet on her ABC sitcom "Ellen."
She also hosted last year's Oscars ceremony after a successful comedy career.
