Amy Winehouse's husband is back to jail
5/12/2008 9:48

Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil is back in prison.

Blake was told he had to return to jail after failing a court ordered drugs test - breaking the terms of his early release from a 27-month jail sentence for grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

After the test, the 26-year-old fled from the rehab facility where he has been since last month to see Amy in The London Clinic - where she is currently recovering from a drink and drugs binge.

He then handed himself into police custody after spending time with Amy last night.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Blake ran away. He turned up in hospital and hell broke loose - everyone was totally shocked.

"He was asking Amy to forgive him. As he was going back inside anyway he felt he didn't have much to lose.

"If he had stayed in prison last month rather than taking the rehab option he was set to be released at the end of this month. He's blown it."

Amy, 25, had not seen Blake since his release, but they had been in phone contact, and one particularly bad argument led Amy to go on the drink and drugs rampage which resulted in her hospitalisation.

She had then called divorce lawyers to her bedside, but it is reported Blake threatened to harm himself if she tried to split from him.

Friends of the 'Back to Black' singer say they are glad Blake is back in jail.
One said: "Amy had finally started stepping up divorce proceedings again but he started phoning again and getting inside her mind. Now he is out of the picture again she can concentrate on getting her life on track."

Earlier this week, Blake claimed he was free of drugs but admitted to dragging his wife into a life of addiction. He also vowed to stay away from her after his release from rehab - which Amy picked up the£30,000 tab for - so she can get her life back on track.

He said: "Yes I'm clean. Yes I'm off drugs. But I don't deserve to be clean. I don't deserve to be the one in rehab. Amy does. Amy deserves to be in here, getting clean, getting ready for a fresh start in life."

Blake had served less than half of his original sentence when he was released in November. He is now believed to be facing jail until early 2010.
