The 38-year-old singer -- who married rapper Nick Cannon in a secret
ceremony in the Bahamas in April -- reportedly looked ecstatic as she left a
gynaecologist's office in Los Angeles recently.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Mariah came out of the office
clutching what looked like a sonogram and being greeted by her entourage with
cheers. She was ebullient."
Meanwhile, Mariah has refused to comment on the baby rumors but admits she is
keen to start a family with 27-year-old Nick.
She said: "People are constantly asking me if I'm pregnant, but I don't like
to talk about it too much. I just think about it as the next phase. We'll see.
"I've changed my mind about becoming a mother because I'm with The One. I
think we would make good parents, and that we'd be able to figure out how to do
it properly."
Mariah also defended her decision to marry Nick after knowing him for only
six weeks, adding to Britain's Hello magazine: "We kind of knew from the
beginning that we were going to get married. It's hard to describe but we knew
immediately.
"I know people are going to be like, 'There's no way!' but neither of us had
any doubts that we were truly meant for each other. He is my
soulmate."
