A debate contest between university students from Chinese mainland and
Taiwan Province will be held in Taipei from July 31 to August 2, according to
Taiwan media reports.
It will be the first time for Taipei to host such a debate contest.
Thirty-one students from 12 universities, six from each side are expected to
participate.
The mainland universities include Fudan University, Zhejiang University,
Xi'an Jiaotong University, People's University of China, Xiamen University, and
Fujian Normal University. Those fromTaiwan are Taiwan University, Chengchi
University, Shih Hsin University, Ming Chuan University, Soochow University, and
Chung Cheng University.
The organizer hopes that this competition would deepen cross-straits
exchanges between students from the two sides.
