Kathmandu Mountain Film Festival kicks off

The 4th edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF)
kicked off today in the Nepali capital Kathmandu. The inaugural of KIMFF was
held at Russian Culture Center in Kathmandu at 11:00 a.m. (0515 GMT) Thursday
with the screening of "100 percent Woman" made by Canadians. A total of 73
films from 26 countries of different genres will be shown at KIMFF with Four
films from Nepal. On Dec. 7, focuses are on The Lord of Darjeeling from
France, Himalayan Dreams from Maldives, Solo un Cargador "Porter" from Peru, and
Kekizili: Mountain Patrol from China, besides 100 percent Woman. This edition
of KIMFF is dedicated to Dr. Harka Gurung, an eminent scholar, and an ardent
supporter of KIMFF, who died in a helicopter crash earlier this year.
