Famous Taiwan TV host Hu Gua on Saturday admitted that he and his
girlfriend, actress Ding Rouan, used drugs for a while. However, he denied the
bhang the police found in their apartment belonged to them.
Police in Taipei on Friday searched the entertainer's apartment under another
round of gambling and bribe charges, and investigators smelled the aroma of
bhang in his bedroom. They finally found 30-gram of the drug inside the
interlining of the ceiling.
They then detained Hu Gua, his girlfriend Ding Rouan, Hu Gua's daughter Hu
Yingzhen and her boyfriend.
Hu Gua and his girlfriend admitted to a
history of bhang drug use but insisted they had since quit. They said the drug
found in their apartment belonged to a friend.
Hu Yingzhen and her boyfriend were released after inquest.
Police collected Hu Gua and his girlfriend's hair and urine for further
testing and they were released on Saturday on police bail.
A police source says that if the test results are positive for bhang, the
couple may be forced to undergo drug rehabilitation.
Late last year, a number of entertainers in Taiwan, including actress Hsiao
Shushen, made headlines after being involved in drug use.
