14/4/2007 12:08
British director Daryl Goodrich, who is famous for the successful
promotional film for London's bid for the 2012 Olympic Games, was invited to
Beijing yesterday to make a five-minute promotional film for the 2008 Olympic
Games.
As part of the "Vision Beijing" film series, the 42-year old
director will help shape a green and healthy image of Beijing and its active
cultural communications.
A total of five directors will work on the
five-episode project. Daryl Goodrich is the third director to have received an
invitation, following Italian film master Giuseppe Tornatore and Iranian
filmmaker Majid Majidi.
At a press conference on Friday in Beijing,
director Daryl Goodrich, on his second visit to China, talked about how he would
exploit Beijingers' passions for the Olympic Games in such a short time.
