Chinese mainland actress Yan Bingyan celebrated her Golden Rooster Best
Actress award with friends and family members in Beijing on Thursday.
Yan was given the honor on October 27 during the 16th Golden Rooster and
Hundred Flowers Film Festival for her performance in the film, "Teeth of Love,"
in which she played a woman born in the 1960s who lived through several sad love
stories.
She was a professional dancer before entering the film industry, according to
the Beijing Daily Messenger. Life as an actress changed her from a once shy girl
into a larger-than-life star.
Her mother passed away in 2005, not long before the shooting of "Teeth of
Love."
