Australian pop star Kylie Minogue who released her new album "X" this week
has announced a new European concert tour and promised the show would be
"totally different" from previous performances, media reported yesterday.
The new tour will open in Paris on May 6 just days before her 40th birthday
and end more than two months later on July 27 in London's O2 Arena.
The tour -- called "KYLIEX2008" after her latest album "X" -- includes gigs
in Antwerp, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, Prague, Vienna,
Budapest, Munich, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and Rotterdam. She will
also play two gigs each in four British cities -- Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester
and London.
Minogue cancelled her "Showgirl" tour when she was diagnosed with breast
cancer in 2005 but returned last year with the "Showgirl Homecoming Tour."
Tickets go on sale for the UK shows on Dec. 3 priced US$103, the same price as
those for her last "Showgirl Homecoming" tour.
Minogue underwent surgery in Melbourne, followed by chemotherapy in Paris
where her then boyfriend had a home. The announcement will end media speculation
that she may have to cancel a planned tour due to concerns over her health after
she recovered from breast cancer.
The 39-year-old singer said on her website that the two celebratory tours
would be new and exciting experience for both the audience and herself.
