James Bond star Pierce Brosnan won't be charged for getting into a scuffle
with a photographer on Oct. 26 outside a Mexican restaurant in Malibu,
California, reports said yesterday.
Brosnan, who was accompanied by one of his children, took exception to being
questioned by the photographer, identified as Robert Rosen. Witnesses reportedly
alleged Brosnan reacted by swearing at Rosen and punching him in the ribs before
the photographer responded by kicking the actor in the stomach.
The Los Angeles County sheriff's department investigated the matter. However
after reviewing evidence, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said
Tuesday no criminal charges would be filed against the actor, according to
Deputy District Attorney James Garrison.
Brosnan's spokeswoman Jennifer Allen said she had not heard about the
decision, adding she would try to reach Brosnan's attorney to see if he had any
comment.
Brosnan, Irish-born, 54, who played British superspy 007 in four films and
"Remington Steele" was never arrested.
