Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon tops The Hollywood Reporter's annual list
of the highest-paid actresses with US$ 15 to 20 million per picture, media
reported today.
The salary list appears in The Hollywood Reporter's "Women in Entertainment:
Power 100" issue, on newsstands Tuesday.
Witherspoon, the American sweetheart, who took a major pay cut to star in New
Line's "Rendition," last year was No. 2 on the list behind Nicole Kidman.
Angelina Jolie came in second with similar salary demands. The 32-year-old
actress had good luck this year as her "Legend of Beowulf" marked her first
box-office hit since "Mr and Mrs Smith" in 2005.
Cameron Diaz was third, with a 15 million-dollar-per-movie price tag. Nicole
Kidman dropped to the fourth, asking for 10 to 15 million dollars each film.
Renee Zellweger and Sandra Bullock also get US$ 10 to 15 million paychecks.
So does Julia Roberts, who hasn't appeared on the big screen since 2004. Her
next film, "Charlie Wilson's War," is due in theaters in December.
Rounding out the top 10 are Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster, who ask 10 to 12
million dollars per project, and Halle Berry, who gets 10 million dollars a
picture.
