The star of NBC's "Las Vegas," Josh Duhamel and his girlfriend Fergie are
engaged, his publicist said Wednesday.
Duhamel's publicist, Ruth Bernstein, said her client recently proposed to the
pop star, whose debut solo album is titled "The Dutchess."
The proposal came after Fergie said earlier this month that she was in no
real rush to get engaged because she and Duhamel were "practically married,
anyway."
"I'm madly in love with him," Fergie said. "He understands how to treat a
woman and give me respect."
"The Duke," as most media reports called, 35, has been dating 32-year-old
Fergie for about three years and they have bought a house.
Duhamel is currently in his fifth season on "Las Vegas." Earlier this year,
he starred opposite Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox in "Transformers."
He was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Nominations, including an Emmy for
Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002.
Fergie, whose name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, is a member of the Black Eyed Peas.
Her hit song "Big Girls Don't Cry" from "The Dutchess" has been nominated for a
Grammy award in the best female pop vocal category.
