Comedy king and queen attend Spring Festival gala

China's reigning comedy duo Zhao Benshan and actress Song Dandan will join
hands again at the 2008 Spring Festival Gala on the Lunar New Year Eve holiday
on February 6.
The gala's directors hammered out ten comic sketches and
cross talks on Friday after five elimination rounds. The duo along with other
performers will take part in the celebration rehearsal next month.
Although Zhao was absent from the final evaluation last night, the
performance's script was finalized, according to a report in the Oriental
Morning Post. Details about the show have not yet been made public.
Zhao
and Song are household-name comedians in China. Their performances during the
last two New Year's galas were tremendously popular.
Cui Jiandong and
Shi Lei are expected to be the black horses of the upcoming gala. Their
hand-shadow show, featuring Chinese traditional folk art, won the applause from
directors and other performers.
