Taiwan pop singer Chyi Chin performed his new song "sailing forward" at
the launch of a Shenzhen TV sponsored sailing journey on Friday in Tianjin.
Shenzhen TV launched the large scale sailing event to commemorate the 30th
anniversary of China's reform and opening up.
Shenzhen is now a flourishing economic zone in southern China and was one of
the first places to embrace reforms.
The ship named "Shenzhen TV" set out on Friday. It will travel southward
along the coast from north China's Tianjin Binhai New area to the Shenzhen
Special Economic Zone, reflecting on the changes and developments taking place
in China's coastal cities over the past three decades.
As the ship sails along, a who's who list of popular Chinese mainland stars
like Sun Li, Shao Bing and Tong Dawei will be invited onboard to share stories
and discuss the development of cities along the way.
As the theme song for the event, "Sailing forward" is also Chyi Chin's latest
single of the year.
