Subsidiary of mainland game giant sued over IPR violation

A subsidiary of the largest online game developer on the Chinese mainland was in civil court yesterday defending itself against allegations of violating the copyright of six computer games, Shanghai Daily reported.

China Aomei Network Co Ltd, a computer game operator, is demanding 100 million yuan (US$12.5 million) in compensation from Shanghai Holdfast Online Information Technology Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Shanghai Shanda Network Development Co Ltd, the mainland's biggest online game developer.
