Shanghai Daily news/ Lu Feiran

The city continued on its pathfinding way on Friday with the launch of a guide dog training program, Shanghai Daily reported.

It has been a triumph for teamwork, with the Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation, the Nanjing Research Institute of Police Dogs and the Japan Guide Dog Association all lending a hand.

The first six labrador pups imported from the United Kingdom were yesterday turned over to volunteer families to undergo house training, which will last for six to eight months.

All six pups, four male and two female, are three months old. After they become accustomed to family life, they will receive further, more intensive training.
