Metro Line 7, which is being built, will be extended north to the rural Luodian Town in Baoshan District, according to the Baoshan District government.

Chinese media reported the extension would comprise five stations, on top of the planned 28 underground stations, including one at Luodian Town which will become a rural transport hub with a North European-style design.
