Jinhu Shiji Hualian, a supermarket chain in Jiangsu Province, has been ordered to pay 500,000 yuan (US$72,780) in compensation to Hualian Supermarket, a well-known city supermarket chain, for misusing its name and for unfair competition.

Hualian was China's first listed supermarket and had nearly 2,000 outlets throughout the country by June 2007.
