The first vegetables planted during the plum rain season went on the market
yesterday. Suburban gardeners have planted nearly 6,667 hectares of vegetables,
but the rain reduces harvests and makes vegetables spoil easily.
The
average harvest is 20 percent less than in previous years and the price is up 50
percent, according to the agricultural products wholesale
market.
