Parking fees are set to jump in the city center but more cheap parking spaces will be built at transport hubs to encourage people to "park and ride," Shanghai Daily reported.

Li Zhengwu, head of Shanghai's Parking Industry Association, said the city transport authority has decided to use the increased parking fees to help ease the shortage of car parking spaces in the city.
