Polar melt could cut shipping route to America by a third

Chinese scientists are conducting research that might bring some benefit from
the global warming that is melting the polar ice, Shanghai Daily
reported.
After three expeditions to the Arctic by China's only
icebreaker, the Xuelong, scientists are working to see if it would be viable to
open a commercial arctic shipping route from China to North
America.
