A dispute over the family tree of one of the Tang Dynasty's greatest poets
will be heard by Zhabei District People's Court.
Du Fu was regarded as a
poet-saint during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). His family tree was inscribed on
an old house beam and kept in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, where it stayed,
undergoing several revisions, until 2004, when it was taken to Shanghai by Du
Huanrong, the oldest surviving descendant of the Du clan.
