Shanghai Daily news

A man who allegedly broke into a city home and stole an 18,000-yuan (US$2,630) rosewood table was arrested yesterday after leaving a fingerprint behind. Minhang District prosecutors charged the defendant, Cao Yuelong, 42, a Jiangsu Province native, with larceny.

The theft occurred on June 17 at the Shanghai home of a man surnamed Wang. He told police that a man who collected old furniture had visited in April and offered to buy the table. Wang refused since the table was inherited from his father. The police found a fingerprint and traced it to Cao.
