A man who was guarantor for a mobile phone must pay the bill even though the phone was stolen in the United States, a court ordered yesterday.

The Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court yesterday ordered a man surnamed Sun to pay 7,110.3 yuan (US$1,043.47) to China Mobile Group Shanghai Co.
