Huangpu District Health Supervision Agency officials said yesterday that they cracked down on 24 illegal medical agents cheating patients at hospitals.

The agency also shut down 31 unlicensed clinics and confiscated a ton of medicine from these centers in a drive last month. Illegal clinics can be fined up to 100,000 yuan (US$14,661) and offenders caught twice are handed over to the police.
