Prosecutors have approved the arrest of two men who allegedly kidnapped and robbed a woman at knifepoint.

The suspects, Wan, 19, and a man surnamed Dong, kidnapped a flight attendant surnamed Hou at Langao Road in Putuo District on August 23, prosecutors said. Dong allegedly jumped into Hou's car at the intersection of Langao and Huachi roads. He held a knife to Hou's side and forced her to drive and pick up Wan, police said. The two then allegedly tied her up and took her mobile phone, 200 yuan (US$29) and two bank cards. Hou said she managed to escape when Wan went to withdraw money at an ATM in Baoshan. The two men then fled and were caught in Xi'an Province on August 31.
