City traffic police have teamed up with officers in neighboring Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces on a three-month crackdown designed to enhance safety throughout the regional expressway network.

The joint action began at major toll stations shared by Shanghai and the provinces early yesterday morning. The target areas include the Shanghai-Beijing, Shanghai-Hangzhou and Hangzhou-Pudong expressways as well as the No. 204, 318 and 320 national expressways and the regional section of the Tongjiang-Sanya Expressway.
