A woman was severely injured when a grocery at 148 Jiangxi Road N., Hongkou District, caught fire about 5am yesterday.

The woman, who was not identified, tried to escape the blaze and fell from an attic, witnesses said. It took firefighters about an hour to put out the blaze. Officials said old wiring may have been a contributing factor in how the fire started.
