Chinese scholars should work with the news media to control smoking, leading health professionals said at a seminar at Fudan University yesterday.

China has the largest number of smokers in the world, with 350 million in 2007, according to a study by the Ministry of Public Health. China is also the biggest producer of cigarettes.
