Fudan University yesterday launched a new program to develop resource technology designed to help resolve the country's energy challenges, Shanghai Daily reported.

The New Energy Institute, at Fudan's Jiangwan campus, will conduct research on energy conservation and new resource technology in support of China's energy strategy. Like other nations, China is grappling with a shortage of energy resources and environmental pollution caused by the burning of oil.
