City immigration police stepped up the pace of customs processing yesterday as a heavy weekend fog caused a partial suspension of shipping at the local ports and created a backlog of hundreds of vessels, Shanghai Daily reported.

Wusong Port immigration police said nearly 100 international ships were delayed from entering or leaving local docks because of poor visibility.
