Shanghai has not had any reports of maggot-infested oranges in the city despite Internet rumors that some oranges are unsafe to eat.

Cyber reports over the past few days have claimed that maggots were found in oranges grown in Sichuan Province. But most of the oranges sold in Shanghai are from other provinces, and inspections have shown that local oranges are safe.
