Hairy crab prices in the local market have dropped to the lowest level in five years due to an unusually warm autumn and an abundant supply.

In the Tongchuan Road Aquatic Products Wholesale Market, one of the city's largest markets of its kind, the wholesale price of male crabs weighing about 200 grams is 60 yuan (US$8.78) a kilogram, less than half the price charged in early September when the crabs first went on sale.
